Very good job Kumho
I have Hyundai I45 premium ( 2013 ) and Kumho Solus 17 ( 225 - 45 - 18 ) were the standard fitment on the car. At the moment the car has just over 74.000 km on the clock and they are still legal ( only just but hey....), so I can't figure out people ...
I have Hyundai I45 premium ( 2013 ) and Kumho Solus 17 ( 225 - 45 - 18 ) were the standard fitment on the car. At the moment the car has just over 74.000 km on the clock and they are still legal ( only just but hey....), so I can't figure out people complaining about durability . Mind you it is all done mostly on the freeway , but I do like my corners , and I do accelerate properly , sharp driving , I am not dragging around ( I am riding sports bikes too , and ride them properly ) . I keep the pressure at 36PSI with regular check ups. In the beginning I tried 40 PSI ,but they started to wear the middle , so I dropped it down to 36PSI. No wear on the edges , alignment was only done when I bought the car and never again . Dry grip was fantastic , you can push as much as you want , they stay planted. It is the front wheel car ( with active suspension being the top of the range ) , and with a bit of a brake trailing into the corner , the front is going where you point it , but if you go stupid the rear will slide out , although that is probably related to H I 45 ( car dealer was properly scared on demo drive ...).In the wet still decent but I never pushed like mad in the wet , so I cant comment. For spirited drive in the wet , no problems , and no aquaplaning on the flooded freeway at 110km/h when most Australians simply stop their car in emergency lane or drag themselves at 30km/h on freeway with hazard lights on..... Regarding the noise , I 45 is producing a bit more noise then our Honda Accord (2013 , current model ) on Michelins but again I think it is the Honda thing......( overall refinement of that car is just unbelievable , and in a league of its own ) . For me , fantastic tyre that fits its purpose and I am probably going to replace them with same or similar for Kumho ( regarding the price , it just makes them even better ). There are tyres that grip better , but they are going to cost me like a first love and will wear out much quicker . No thank you....
