Pirelli PZERO Rosso dependable
Good performer. Handle corners well. Bulge in wall is main cause for replacement. There was still tread available. Tyres on car when purchased 2nd hand (I have driven approximately 3-4,000kms). Total kms with these tyres unknown.

Pirelli Goodness
The tyres perform well. I find no problem in trusting the tyres in any on road condition. They corner well and the wear is good. I would not use them off road. The car performs better on these than previous brand. Worth the money.

Factory Mustang Tyres? Meh.. Borderline dangerous!
Got 30000k's out of them on my Mustang, which apparently is some kind of miracle. But my driving is 100km per day of freeway with cruise control on. Almost undriveable for the first 10-15mins when cold, like a dog on lino!! Once warm, grip was o.k. Had a loot of fun with these tyres on, but couldn't let my wife drive the car, just in case it bit her. Couldn't in good conscience buy them again.

Grippy 245/40/17 tyre for BMW E46 but wears very quickly - recommend if you get a good price, otherw
I bought these to replace Sumitomo HTR ZII s for my BMW 316TI E46. Got a good price from an Australian seller via eBay (International Tyre Trader) so decided to give them a go. Note that the E46 is a rear-wheel drive and when using 17 it s a staggered fitment (225/45/17 on front, 245/40/17 on rear) so tyre rotation is not possible. I got them for under $200 per tyre which is pretty good value for a Pirelli. Retail is around the $300 mark. First the good: quiet tyre when new, reasonable grip in both wet and dry, felt very stable. Could not fault grip in dry or wet under normal driving conditions. Wore evenly across whole tyre section. Decent braking performance in both wet and dry (however I only to emergency brake in the dry). Felt quite stable under even hard braking. Now the not-so-good: compared to the previous tyre (Sumitomo HTR ZIII, see separate review), these really didn t feel any better. They also tram-tracked, no better and no worse than the Sumitomos. They didn t really seem to offer any more feedback than the Sumitomos. Once they wore down, they got really hard and noisy. Just turning across white lines on the road would evoke tyre squeal. Ride when worn feels harsh, harsher than when new. (Caveat: I did not do any extreme driving so cannot comment about on the limit handling). Finally the bad: These tyres are SOFT. Wore out within 15,000km, this is with normal commuting in <80km/h zones with a few weekend trips and maybe 1,500km of spirited driving on roads like Tawonga Gap and Black Spur. So definitely no hard take-offs, wheels spins, track days or anything silly. The only other set of tyres I wore so quickly was a set of Pirelli P5000 Drago s back in the 1990 s on my Mitsubishi GSR Galant (2.0L front wheel drive). All my other tyres (Bridgestone RE-010, Potenza GIII, Adrenalin RE002, Goodyear Eagle F1, none of which are touring or long-lasting tyres) have lasted at least 45,000 - 50,000km. So these are by far the softest, fastest-wearing tyres I ve ever driven on. Conclusion: If you can get these sub $200, and don t mind replacing every 15,000km, then go ahead. They offer decent grip, handling, performance and braking, but poor bang-for-buck. They just don t last. I will NOT be replacing them with another Pirelli.

awesome grip
I have had these tyres on since new in 2008 and they grip like no other tyre I have ever seen. They grip so well it s scary going around some bends as my head tells me I will lose control but they never have, even in the wet. So far I ve done 29K on them and they ve probably got another 5K in them. They ride pretty good for a performance tyre as well- mine are 18 245 s.

Good, but wont buy again
Grips very well, gets really noisy towards the end of life. I think i get only about 25-30 thou kms, which is below average. Stiff wall but bearable. It is designed to be a performance tyres, so you get max performance, but shorter life. I would not buy again, there are other tyres with similar performance and costs less.

Excellent quality for price
The quality is high as expected and tyres run very smoothly, no roll and the car sits much better on the road. The extra strength in the tyre wall is especially welcome given my learner driver kids! Previous tyres had a lot of road noise which has been all but eliminated with the Pirelli s.

Excellent
Top product, excellent performance and surprisingly good wear. Car was delivered with these tyres and they are obviously well suited to the vehicle (Alfa Romeo GT). We will definitely stay with them.

Terrible
The grip on the Rosso tyres was fantastic, but even after being fussy with alignment, pressures and rotation of tyres I only got 21,000km s. Would not buy.

Bad
Overall a pretty good tyre performance wise, but when you consider how much they were, I believe about $220 (on special) 3 years ago, I expected greater results. The noise was very intrusive and got worse as the life went on. They are designed to be fitted to ferrari s and porsche s with very low profiles. I feel that this may have been a contributing factor in my disappointment as they weren t primarily designed for a medium family car. The tyre size tested 205/55r16 on 2003 Honda accord Euro. Now replacing with Michelin Pilot sport 3 s

so smooth
I drive on the highway every day to and from work and feel very safe with these tires. My old tires used to spin in wet weather without getting traction after stopping at a traffic light, which was really concerning. These tires have a very firm grip on the road.

Had Kumhos before and these seemed better
Compared to what these replaced the ride was a bit firmer so a little bumpy on the the pot hole ridden roads that have become way to common in South Australia over the last 10 years. Brought these tires at Bob James after Xmas 2013 as there was not much choice and a the Kumho were warn and one had a puncture and leaked slowly. They were very pricey compared to what we were used to with a Forester. Had the first fill done with Nitrogen but they seem to like doing them tight with 40psi cf around 32 - 36 psi recommended on the car door advice card. I let the excess out in winter. They have done a dozen or so trips to Melbourne from Adelaide and one across the Hay Plains to the east coast and the front 255R50 19 wore more than the back 285R45 19 . Now at 55,000 kms they need to go. Could have got more if they were rotated sideways which I ll try to do every time I change the oil. It s a hard choice there are so many out there to choose from. These still have great grip so I might go for them them again as they are still super quiet at 0.5mm off the wear bar. Car has done 170,000kms so this might be the last set of big tires we get as we will down size in a few years I suspect.

Good performance tyre
Installed on my MY14 Forester XT, it allows me to drive it without worry. The tyre just like a glue for my car. Perform well on wet and dry. I had it for 3000 km now and still really great. I put 34 psi, hopefully I can get the most millage from the tyres. I got 245/50/R18 on 8.5 width rims. I don t have intention to take my Forester off road, more on track / bitumen.
