In over 35 years Iâ€™ve never had such a dramatic drop in road noise between tyre brands. Totally unexpected as to how much road noise tyres can make. My old tyres were Bridgestoneâ€™s which sounded no different to the Yokohama C Drives I had before then.Dry and Wet grip is the best Iâ€™ve never known. Handling is brilliant especially on freeways.I use a greasy roundabout that when wet will cause your car to fish tail at walking pace. These tyres, no fishtail what so ever. Something all the other tyres failed at.I drive on freeways at speeds of 100-110km 60% of the time in all weather conditions.You still get rocketed hitting water puddles aquaplane style no matter how slow you are going. Iâ€™ve come to the conclusion no tyre can overcome this.For the record Iâ€™ve bought various types of Yokohama, Toyo, Goodyear, GT Goodrich, Kumho, Bridgestone, Dunlop and a random I'd never heard of my mechanic threw on after calling my wife. I ditched them after 6 months.These tyres my friends, are as good as it gets! and the only tyres Iâ€™ve ever "re-purchased". I travel 210km a day and got 82,000km before replacement which was due to bad tread wear caused by a wheel alignment. Otherwise I would have got even more mileage from these Michelin's.On a sad point, they donâ€™t make a size to fit my other car, a small BMW 316ti. But Michelin XM2â€™s have been a great 2nd best alternative.

Quiet, grippy, economical, brilliant! I have done my homework before buying 4 new tyres for my beloved Skoda Octavia sedan. Reviews of this tyre were so positive that I swayed away from the Continentals I was keen on buying. I can now see why people rave about the Michelins. The two bigg ... I have done my homework before buying 4 new tyres for my beloved Skoda Octavia sedan. Reviews of this tyre were so positive that I swayed away from the Continentals I was keen on buying. I can now see why people rave about the Michelins. The two biggest differences I noticed compared to my bald Goodyear Assurances up front and almost bald Bridgestone Turanza ER 300s at the back were a big reduction in road noise and marked improvement in grip. My rim size is 205/55/16R.Road noise: Reduced by 40-50%! I drive on very rough rural Queensland roads and after a long trip, my ears would ring. I primarily wanted a tyre that can dampen noise effectively. On the Michelins, the ringing is history. Their tread pattern looks like it was carved out by poorly trained monkeys. There is a somewhat chaotic randomness and simplicity to it. Some of the transverse cuts are wider apart, some closer. I'm not an engineer, but my guess is that the irregularity in the pattern prevents any sort of resonant frequency from building up at any speed, hence potential echoes from the road are dampened very effectively. You still know when you're on the rough stuff but the difference is notable and impressive.Dry grip: Excellent. I'm taking corners where on my old tyres the car was massively understeering with greater speed and confidence that I won't lose grip. Full throttle from a standing start used to cause the ESP to desperately try to minimise wheel spin whereas now, it hardly has to kick in at all, which has of course massively improved acceleration in first and second gear.Fuel economy: A couple of years ago, when the Goodyear Assurance tyres went on the front, my fuel economy suffered big time. Went south by about a litre/100km. With four brand new Michelins, it has worsened by around 0.5L/100km compared to the baldies that were removed, which, given the markedly improved grip, is actually not too bad. I guess it's back to the simple tread pattern offering minimal rolling resistance. I can't comment on how soft or hard the rubber compound is - of that I have no idea.Wet grip: To be announced. It doesn't rain too often in this neck of the woods. I'll update when I find out. The longitudinal grooves aren't as wide as on some of the other tyres out there, but whether that has any bearing on wet weather performance remains to be seen in my case.Wear: Obviously too early to tell. Will check back in a few thousand km.Overall: The Michelins have proved to me that you don't need a cool and aggressive looking tyre to have a very high performing tyre. One of my mates commented that they look like something an accountant would have on their car. The tread pattern looks imprecise and plain, but it is done that way for a very good reason and I cannot fault this tyre. Highly recommended.

I've found Salesmen advise useless.I almost got talked into buying Continental tyres by as salesman who didnâ€™t have Primacy ST 3 in stock, but did have a special on Continentals. He assured me they were the same as Michelin's. I wisely said no, and waited for the Michelin's to arrive the following day..I wasnâ€™t disappointed!First thing I noticed was how quite these tyres were. It was like I was driving a different car. In over 35 years Iâ€™ve never had such a dramatic drop in road noise between tyre brands. Totally unexpected as to how much road noise tyres can make. My old tyres were Bridgestoneâ€™s which sounded no different to the Yokohama C Drives I had before then.Dry and Wet grip is the best Iâ€™ve never known. Handling is brilliant especially on freeways.I use a greasy roundabout that when wet will cause your car to fish tail at walking pace. These tyres, no fishtail what so ever. Something all the other tyres failed at.I drive on freeways at speeds of 100-110km 60% of the time in all weather conditions.You still get rocketed hitting water puddles aquaplane style no matter how slow you are going. Iâ€™ve come to the conclusion no tyre can overcome this.For the record Iâ€™ve bought various types of Yokohama, Toyo, Goodyear, GT Goodrich, Kumho, Bridgestone, Dunlop and a random I'd never heard of my mechanic threw on after calling my wife. I ditched them after 6 months.These tyres my friends, are as good as it gets! and the only tyres Iâ€™ve ever "re-purchased". I travel 210km a day and got 82,000km before replacement which was due to bad tread wear caused by a wheel alignment. Otherwise I would have got even more mileage from these Michelin's.On a sad point, they donâ€™t make a size to fit my other car, a small BMW 316ti. But Michelin XM2â€™s have been a great 2nd best alternative.

Quiet, grippy, economical, brilliant! I have done my homework before buying 4 new tyres for my beloved Skoda Octavia sedan. Reviews of this tyre were so positive that I swayed away from the Continentals I was keen on buying. I can now see why people rave about the Michelins. The two bigg ... I have done my homework before buying 4 new tyres for my beloved Skoda Octavia sedan. Reviews of this tyre were so positive that I swayed away from the Continentals I was keen on buying. I can now see why people rave about the Michelins. The two biggest differences I noticed compared to my bald Goodyear Assurances up front and almost bald Bridgestone Turanza ER 300s at the back were a big reduction in road noise and marked improvement in grip. My rim size is 205/55/16R.Road noise: Reduced by 40-50%! I drive on very rough rural Queensland roads and after a long trip, my ears would ring. I primarily wanted a tyre that can dampen noise effectively. On the Michelins, the ringing is history. Their tread pattern looks like it was carved out by poorly trained monkeys. There is a somewhat chaotic randomness and simplicity to it. Some of the transverse cuts are wider apart, some closer. I'm not an engineer, but my guess is that the irregularity in the pattern prevents any sort of resonant frequency from building up at any speed, hence potential echoes from the road are dampened very effectively. You still know when you're on the rough stuff but the difference is notable and impressive.Dry grip: Excellent. I'm taking corners where on my old tyres the car was massively understeering with greater speed and confidence that I won't lose grip. Full throttle from a standing start used to cause the ESP to desperately try to minimise wheel spin whereas now, it hardly has to kick in at all, which has of course massively improved acceleration in first and second gear.Fuel economy: A couple of years ago, when the Goodyear Assurance tyres went on the front, my fuel economy suffered big time. Went south by about a litre/100km. With four brand new Michelins, it has worsened by around 0.5L/100km compared to the baldies that were removed, which, given the markedly improved grip, is actually not too bad. I guess it's back to the simple tread pattern offering minimal rolling resistance. I can't comment on how soft or hard the rubber compound is - of that I have no idea.Wet grip: To be announced. It doesn't rain too often in this neck of the woods. I'll update when I find out. The longitudinal grooves aren't as wide as on some of the other tyres out there, but whether that has any bearing on wet weather performance remains to be seen in my case.Wear: Obviously too early to tell. Will check back in a few thousand km.Overall: The Michelins have proved to me that you don't need a cool and aggressive looking tyre to have a very high performing tyre. One of my mates commented that they look like something an accountant would have on their car. The tread pattern looks imprecise and plain, but it is done that way for a very good reason and I cannot fault this tyre. Highly recommended.

Excellent tyres Purchased 4 Michelin Primacy 3 ST 215/50R/17/95W (made in China) from Bob Jane for my Citroen C4 Picasso. These tyres are so quiet, comfortable and handle very well. Definitely the best tyres for this car!
