2007 Mitsubishi 380SX
Best tyre for my 380 so far!
I test-drove my car with Dunlop SP Sport 300E (pretty good tyres), which were replaced with cheap Nankang to get the safety certificate before I bought it. Since I really hated the Chinese made Nankang, I replaced them with Kumho (a brand I enjoyed having on my Magnas in the past) but those didn t last long on the 380. After I ve read the 2012 Choice Magazine tyre test, I ve purchased the first two Champiro 228 in 2013 and another two in 2014: They are comfy, quiet, good in corners and when braking (in the dry and wet) - and they re still going strong today!

Worse tyre I have ever bought,
I bought these gt radial 228 putting faith in choice tyre of the year 2012. What a crock! Didn t even get 30000 out of them. I registered for the 5 year replacement guarantee and when it was bought to their attention i got told they will take $10 off the next tyres and basically told to go away and it is all my fault???? I will never but gt radial again and advise anyone else to pick another brand or get ripped off like me.

great three season tires
The 228s handle far better than the admittedly worn Continentals they replaced and seem as at least as good as many of the more expensive tires I ve tried over the years. They are dead quiet on smooth blacktop and more than acceptable on other surfaces, track and ride well and feel secure and sure footed even on my gun boat. I was concerned about their lack of a mileage warranty but they show almost zero wear after about 4.5k miles of driving. Having said that, they are noticeably worse than most tires I ve experienced in snow. I fairness, I was warned of this when I bought them and Gt s website even cautions that most all non winter tires become compromised once temps fall. If you wisely live where it stays reasonably warm or are smart/well off enough to change out to winter tires anyway, the 228 will pleasantly surprise you. They are a good choice.

One of the best tyres I have driven on
Have driven on many brands including Michelin, but have found these to be outstanding for grip and cornering in both wet and dry. Have done 40,000 kms and tyres would not be half worn. You always feel in control no matter what the speed on city roads or motorways. Would recommend these as one of the best allround value for money tyres currently available

Excellent first impressions
Bought four Champiro 228s to replace Falken ZE-912s on my Fiesta (size 195x50/15). First impressions are excellent. They re quiet on coarse-chip roads and grip well in the wet and dry. Only done 1,300 km so far and they re shaping up very well with no discernible wear. Hopefully they will prove much more durable than the Falkens that have had an inadequate life of 30,000 km on my cars.

Very good value, good grip and noise especially in wet
I normally buy Good Years and Bridgestones but bought these based on a NZ Consumer superb review. I would give 5 stars but have only done 4000km so far so cannot testify to wear. They are at least as good as the Good Years I took off the Toyota Avensis 2L wagon. Well done GT Radial!

Amazing grip and so quiet
In my 20 years of being on the road full time i normally purchase from the big 3 tyre brands (P,M,C brands) I decided to try GTRadial after reading they were the winner of best tyre of 2012 by Choice Magazine. I was still sceptical so I did research on the manufacturer s background and reviews globally. I also contacted the importer tyres4u who were excellent with there background and technical information. Finally purchased through TyreRight at Prestons who were also excellent with tyre knowledge and pricing. I have now been running on these tyres on highway and city driving and in extreme wet. I have never had an occasion where these tyres not performed . The stopping distance and grip in both wet and dry has been outstanding. I do a lot of expressway driving and these tyres have been the quietest I have ever driven on. I have recommended these tyres to many friends and colleagues. Finally the low rolling resistance on these tyres does make a difference and I am experiencing 3-5% better economy. Also just registered on their web site for the free 5 year replacement warranty.
