I had the cooper at3 for about 10,00km and in that time blew out 2 sidewalls and broke the beads at least 4 times. The coopers were good on road but can't match the grip and performance of the BFG. I have been driving harder on the BFGs and no problems so far, except for a cut on the side wall (not a puncture) Im doubtful ill ever purchase any other 4x4 tyre.

Bought these about 8 months ago for my Range Rover Classic, in the 225/75R16 size. I've used them in snow, sand, gravel and all kinds of mud. The grip is truly amazing, they just never give up.In foot deep fresh snow, they grip perfectly well; the truck is secure and controlled at all times - they barely skid even after slamming on the brakes.At Stockton beach, at the top of the dunes where there are large patches of soft, wind-driven sand, they just tractor through even when the truck is up to the chassis (I did run them at 11 and 15 psi though). All other sand is dead easy and they never came off the rim.In the mud (clay and more 'normal' stuff), they grip and go. Sometimes there's a little wheel spin but they clear themselves and keep the truck moving.For such an aggressive tyre, they are very quiet on the road (noisier than a pure road tyre but still very good) and even grip the tarmac in the rain - I've never had them slide on me. They don't seem to be chunking out on rough gravel roads either.I guess the reason for their performance is a soft compound rubber, this means they wear pretty quickly - I'm only expecting 30-40 000km (I'll swap them out when they get to about 5mm tread left) from them but feel that this is great for the performance they deliver.

But they are a mud tyre so to be expected. 15000kms further on they are wearing well and square. Not as noisy as the old bar pattern but a pleasant surprise on sealed surfaces. Excellent tyres for all conditions. Daily I drive dirt and very poorly surfaced bitumen roads through rainforest and down steep extreme bends. These tyres perform well on mud, dirt, rock, rough roads, and normal roads wet and dry. I have not done a lot of beach sand driving but from one or two excursions they were fine. Not too noisy and this being my second set, I seem to get about 110,000 kms out of them, rotating every 20,000 kms. Pretty even wearing. As said these are my second set and I can t see why I won t be buying them again. I use the 255/85 16 s as I like the extra height but not too wide. I ve almost gone to the 285/75 s but I m not convinced that I would be happy and it is an expensive experiment. Army keeps them thin and tall for deep bite in soft terrain. I don t drive hard ( I m not 19 anymore) but the tyres are constantly driven in extreme varying conditions, floods through to drought. Creek crossing on driveway and road etc. very stable sure footed tyre. Perfect all round 4x4 tyre that actually drives on many surfaces in extreme weather conditions as part of normal living.

Firstly I do not represent this brand in anyway.Regardless of weather we're talking mud or all terrain these tyres are tough and hardy as any. I run and rotate 5 33" BF muddies and they are tough and trustworthy on all terrain. I live in cape York and use my car for dirt, mud, sand, creeks, dirt and even a bit of overlanding. I've run bfs on my hilux, an old 200 series, our old 80 and have never had a fairy fart of a problem. Bogged to the axles? Run them right down to 8-10 psi and with a shovel and half a brain you'll be right. Any bad press about these tyres will only be due to driver error eg (running the wrong pressures etc).If there is one downside to my BF's (and any Mud Terrain tyres in general) road noise and tread wear can be a nuisance compared to All terrains. And obviously with the added road drag due to more aggressive tread patterns you'll be using a little extra fuel per 100/kms so be prepared for that when tossing up options.Happy touring and shop around! Stick to the main brands, USA isn't always the way!!!!!!

I drive a 2012 4.5 Ltr V8 Turbo Diesel Landcruiser Troopy (78 series 11 seater). This car is unstoppable with these tyres! I've had these tyres for 4 years and they've just completed 100,000 kms and they still have about 3ml of tread left. I've driven all over Australia (Flinders Ranges, Vic High Country, Pilbara, Kimberley, Cape York Tele Track, Crab Track Qld, the deserts, beaches etc etc) on all kinds of roads and tracks. They have never let me down, not once! In Western Australia they were on 25psi for 2 months (seriously) and not a problem. They are awesome on low psi. Not one puncture!! No side wall slashes. They are even good on the bitumen. I don't think they are noisey and I don't care! They do their job and are a badass set of tyres. They are starting to slip a bit but that's expected after 100,000kms, haha. So I have to buy a new set now and I will not hesitate to buy them again. Thank you BF muddies for backing up my photography and 4wding adventures. P.s - I've heard a lot of negative stories about Cooper and Mickey T tyres getting side wall slashes and punctures but I haven't heard any bad stories about the BF muddies from any other drivers, on my travels.

Having 18" wheels on my new 4wd means the options for KM2's are very limited, so I'm hanging out for more sizes to become available, or a KM3!My KM2's have done the usual 4wd locations (Cape York, Tele Track/Frenchmans, etc) and I can attest to their durabitily, excellent traction and very low road noise. Having tried other popular brands over the years, I'm sticking with the BFG's.For those whinging of wear issues and noise, I say this:When you lift your 4wd after fitting tyres and don't get a balance and alignment, that's your own fault.If you run your tyres and silly pressures and they wear uneven, that's your own fault.If you drive through bush/scrub where there is no track and trees down everywhere, and get sidewall stakes or punctures, that's your own fault.If you like to pull fully sick skids or smoke it up when you're not going anywhere off road, and your tyres are wearing in crap all k's, that's your own fault.Tyre companies who make excellent tyres such as these can make extremely strong tyres, but they can't cure stupid. The rubber compound is very hard and the guy at the fitting shop said that he was boaderline not going to fit them because the pressure that he had to get in them to bead. Won't be buying them again. It seems like it's a gamble from the good and bad reviews. I'm presuming the good reviews are the USA made ones. I had a friend with the all terrains and he said that his rubber started cutting and falling off as well.

The initial quietness only lasted 1,000kms, then the bridgestone's became very very noisy and after about 20,000km became scalloped, even with regular rotation. I put on the km2, which honestly started off very noisy, which I expected from a mud terrain, but after 1,500km have become A LOT quieter than the bridgestones were within the first 1,000kms! The tyres handle fantastically, even in the wet on bitumen, perform exactly how I wanted them too and look bloody tough.

My speedo is now around 2km/h optimistic at 110 instead of 7km/h out. Grip on road is reasonable. Only one bad thing about these tyres - they are incredibly noisy. I bought them after reading a 4WD Action review which had a dB rating less than the KO2 All Terrain's, but man I think the dB meter must have been having an off day. I have KM's on my old GQ, and to be frank barely noticed them, but maybe that was because everything else was noisy. With the Pajero, its gone from a quiet car into a very noisy one. So, very happy with everything except the noise.

I have 255/85 r16 on my Landcruiser 80 series.They are the quietest between all muddies. I have done 15,000 Kms and the wear is even. Traction in the wet bitumen is good for a mud tyre. Traction in mud is very good.I was surprised how they handled the sand, no problem at all. I deflated to 18 psi and I didn't have any problem.I don't have anything negative to say about them.

I have had these tyres for nearly 75km and they still have at least 15% tread left on them with no punctures. Good on the sand, very good in the mud and on rocky tracks. Also very competitent on the road. As far as muddies are concerned they are also extremely quite on the bitumen. Only rotated 3 times and have remained very even. It is going to be difficult to trial something else. Some minor chipping after my last trip to the High Country but I expected this on tyres nearly 5 years old. You pay your money and you get what you pay for.

Loving my new 31" 10.5 muddies on my 4.0 ltr petrol Hilux dual cab 4x4.'s standard 15" rims. They're No noisier than roof racks. Nothing like the old tractor tyre noises from previous versions. only slightly affected fuel economy. I'm always carrying a load of weight in the tray and now get 7.9 Kms per litre where as I previously got 8.4 Kms per litre with highway Tyres (Toyo's). Better traction on the road than the Toyo's as well. They feel more predictable & don't break loose under acceleration. Off road they feel robust and the traction is great. Saving me the cost of a winch (for now). I'm far more confident of her climbing ability on the muddies, especially in the wet. Never had more comments about a set of Tyres either. They look a million bucks and saved me the need to upgrade the standard rims as even they look great wrapped in BFG muddies. Great price at $230 a corner but don't forget to ask for a free old one when purchasing to use as a spare. They've been on special for two years ATM. rotate every 5000 Kms and they'll apparently give you 60k plus of service. What's stopping you? Enjoy.
