Good tyre but increases fuel consumption
I recently purchased 4 Nitto NT860 tyres for my Subaru Forester. I am impressed with the handling and grip. The only negative so far is my fuel consumption has risen between 0.5-1 litre per 100 depending on road conditions. I guess they are more of a soft compount tyre which comes from a performance tyre background. I would be interested to know if anyone has experienced the same.

Very comfy and grippy.
Got them on buy 3 get 4 promotion at Bob Jane Tmart on August 2017. Had previously used Bob Jane All Rounder and these Nittos are way better. Very soft, very grippy and quiet as well on the road. I ve set them to 36psi and even though it s a bit high, but they are still softer than the All Rounder on 34psi. I ve never really tested other premium tyres but I d definitely buy Nittos again. So far doing 10k km already on them and they are superb. Highly recommended!

Does the job well
I purchased these while Bob Jane had a Buy 3, Get 1 Free offer. Could definitely feel the grip and handling once I started driving with them. Haven t had any issues with them nor have any negative points. Seem durable so far, and that s with doing 800km+ highway driving a week.

Impressive for the price
Update - solid performance. Had Dunlop SP Sport 01 tyres since new, lasted 97,000 km, very good wet & dry grip, but got noisy and started to slip in the wet with 2.5mm of tread left and aggressive driving. My research shortlisted the EfficientGrip Performance , NanoEnergy 3 , SP Sport FM800 or Primacy 3 ST , but I decided to go cheaper with Nitto NT860 . Relative comparison ... Dunlops at 34psi vs Nittos at 36psi:Dry grip ... 8/10 vs 7/10 Wet grip ... 8/10 vs 7/10 Low rolling resistance ... 6/10 vs 6/10 (similar fuel economy displayed on dashboard) Comfort ... 5/10 vs 7/10 (feels softer over road surface changes) Wear resistance ... 8/10 vs 8/10 (prediction only) Treadwear Numbers are 280 vs 380 respectively, so I expect the Nittos to last longer. The car now feels slightly less sporty to drive as it leans more with hard changes in direction but overall I m happier with the balance of the Nittos being slightly towards comfort. Generous rim protection for the 16 x 6.5 alloy wheels.

Good tyres for the price
The car when new had Bridgestone ER300 fitted. They were fairly noisy and didn t last 30000km. Bob Jane had a buy 3 get one free so I thought I would try the Nitto. They seem reasonably soft and straight away I could feel the car had better grip. They are also noticeably more quiet. Being a front wheel drive I can say that on take off from a standing start they do have a lot more grip than the Bridgestones and I get very little front wheel chatter. All in all a good tyre. I will update this in 20000km with a wear report. Until then then 4 stars. Update at 20000km. Tyres are wearing even. They are definitely more quiet than the Bridgestones they replaced and the wear is pretty good. I should get 50000km from them if I treat them nice. Very happy.
