Developed flat spots on 2 of 4 tires
I purchased 4 of these tires from a local dealer. At about 30,000 miles, tread was still ok but two of the tires developed flat spots on them, making it sound like I had a flat tire. Drove me CRAZY! I had the dealer check them out (and the car itself) and learned that the problem was in the tires themselves, no problem with the car. Other than that, they did handle well on dry, wet or snowy roads and the tread wore well. Because of the flat spots, though, I will NOT be purchasing any more of these tires.

I love these new tires!!
What is written in the previous review is not true at all. My car seems to grip the road better when cornering now and I feel like I m driving a tank down the gravel road because there is so much grip! I would recommend these tires to anybody driving a small to mid-size car. (I drive a 4 dr sunfire)

Im being generous with a 2 here...
Tire causes car to feel very boat-like and loose when gently swerving at freeway or highway speeds. Does not instill any confidence in the driver that the car can perform emergency handling maneuvers with these tires at these speeds. Made my Buick Regal LS (which handles quite nimbly for a mid-size) respond like the Titanic. Aka very big boat. Can t recommend this tire even for light-duty passenger car usage on dry roads. Took them off the car after 1 month of ownership - never drove with them in rain or snow and wouldn t want to.

Terrible
Bought a brand new set of 4 of theses tires, and had 3 tires separate in less then 10,000k very scary and dangerous, and very little help from the dealer. They wouldn t honor the 80,000 k warranty that came with them. Stating I needed to registrar the tires when I bought them.

@110km/hr, some balancing issue. Makes you feel tires were not balanced on two types of passenger ca
I have had the Maxtour installed in two types of passenger vehicles. 2001 Toyota Corolla and a 2007 Hyundai Tucson. Both cars would exhibit out of balance vibration at 110Km/.hr. Coincidences or not. Four were installed on the Toyota and I had two installed on different axles on the Hyundai and both vibrated at 110km/hr precisely. Any faster or slower, the vibration disappears. Could I blame the installer? I will have to have him rebalance the tires to be sure

Worked for me
I ve had these Maxtours on my 1993 Mazda B2200 truck for 5 years, & 80,000 km (much less than the advertised 130,000 km rating). They now need to be replaced. But they stood up well to my very aggressive driving & all sorts of weather conditions. Not really any sign of cracking or weather wear. I have to say that they were noticeably better than any other tire I ve had on this truck in snow conditions. The truck came new with Bridgestones, then I got a cheap set - can t remember what they were, & then these GT Maxtours. The Maxtours definitely got way better traction in the snow than the others.
