Range Range Rover
Great All Terrain Tire
Was a bit apprehensive about getting these new shaped tread pattern for all terrain driving, but I've been impressed by them so far. They certainly aren't discontinued and I am glad - they are very quiet, yet have done extremely well in gravel and smooth on tarmac, the only thing I would change would be these tires should have come standard on my dam vehicle in the first place. Happy camper here!

2005 Prado
Very good for the price
Bought a set of AT2, LT265/70/17's for my Prado based on the retailers recommendation. Have done the Great Central road , Flinders Ranges and the Pilbara. No chipping or damage evident.Excellent on gravel and loose surfaces. No problems in the wet , though in mud not so good but then again NOT an MT. Wear very good after 20,000kms , of 50/50 dirt and tarmac. Agree with above that the tread does retain stones.These tyres are made in the USA and were $100 cheaper than BFG's or Coopers. ( I had a set of Cooper ATR's and they chipped badly )Pretty good all round tyre

2006 Hyundai Terracan 4x4 auto diesel
Good Choice
I have travelled 62000k s in my Terracan 4x4 , mostly on sealed roads and about 20000 of those involved hauling a tandem van. The AT2 tyres still have about 6mm of tread depth and going strong. Wear has been very even and I have been totally satisfied with the noise level and braking in both dry and wet conditions. My next set of tires will definately be General Grabbers !. Gary.

competent AT Tyre
I wanted something different from the usual Bridgestone Duellers etc that I have normally run...was looking at Pirelli, Continental & Hercules tyres as well.Have had some General Grabber GT's on wife's Subaru outback which have performed quite well.Got these AT's for under $170 a corner which was alot better than the $230+ I was getting quoted.Is early days, but so far excellent grip in wet & dry, pretty quiet for a seemingly aggressive pattern, quieter than my old Duellers but in fairness they were pretty worn & the old D694 pattern....D697 supposed to be quieter.I look forward to trying these out on the beach...spend most of my time on bitumen though.Very happy so far....

2007 Prado
What more could you need.
Size 265/70/17 LT AT2My 120 Prado had Pirelli Scorpions ATR front and Bridgestones AT 697 Rear when I brought it, so was in a unique spot of being able to swap tyres from front to back to try them, Bridgestones gave me no confidence in corners compared to Pirelli and where much noisier than pirelli, I nearly purchased new pirelli ATR but the Bob Jane tyre guy said consider the General AT2, since I was looking to get 5 new tyres going from 265/65/17 to 265/70/17 I researched tyres thoroughly from mainly USA/Canadian websites as they sell more tyres than Oz and therefore more data and one tyre that kept coming up trumps overall and with the one consistent review of quiet and huge mileage was the General AT2. So i purchased these while every one else was telling me to buy a Cooper or BFG, well they are quiet like really quiet, grip well wet and dry, I have had them in Mud where they worked surprisingly well and kept up with people with muddies, in the sand Dropped them down to 16 psi fr 18 psi rear they worked great noticed that when they did get coated in wet sand you have to spin them initially to flick off sand and they grip again while others could not shake off the sand so I guess they are somewhat self cleaning, in rocky/gravel tracks they are fine and in fact did not drop pressure while everyone else did as I did not slip. Only one thing I have noticed is that they can pick up some gravel in their treads but since I cannot compare this to another tyre I cannot say more or less than another brand. I have noticed that if you have less than 36 psi in them they lack initial turn into corners I run 40 psi front and 42 psi rear all the time unless off-road. Overall I am very pleased with these and would fit them again for replacement.

2003 Land Rover Discovery 2
Its alright
265/70/16 I ve had them in my Discovery 2 for an year and a half now. Have done 25000kms and have had 2 sidewall punctures (one from Watagans & the other from Fraser). Looks like it ll go for another 10000kms so not happy at all (even after rotating). I ve bought a set of BFG KO2s now. Having said all that, the Grabbers have performed well off road and excellent on road. What put me off was the wear & the lack of puncture resistance. Have had to buy 2 new tyres in 1.5 years.

Great quiet tyres but watch the wet
I wanted to move to a less aggressive tyre after have BFG muddies as my play tyres and Michelin as the road tyres. Also I was getting over the whole changing the tyres on the night before heading off road.I settled on these as a "new" computer design AT tyre, hopefully of better all round performance And no more tyre changes.These are a quiet tyre that look as if they will last a long time, after a year and 10 000kms they still look new.The two complaints I have are,1/ wet roads or rocks/hard surface, with these tyres you have to tiptoe around. This is the family car and weekend camping tow vehicle. Not much fun in the wet. Both corner and breaking effectiveness reduced borderline dangerous.2/ the tyres seem to pick up small stones in the grooves, every time on dirt get back on the hardtop and click click click.I have had them on the beach, in mud, gravel road, wet gravel roads, grass etc and apart from adjusting pressures they work well.Just the wet roads is their biggest problem. And this would stop me buying them again however with the excellent wear they have might be a while before they are changed.

toyota 150 Series Toyota Landcruiser Prado
Perfect AT Tyre
I installed these on our 150 Series Toyota Prado about 6 months ago, and they've proven to be the excellent balance of off-road and on-road that I was looking for. I've previously had Dunlop AT20 tyres that weren't any good off road, and Hankook MT tyres that were much too noisy and lacked highway practicality.The Grabbers are confident on loose gravel roads, good off road and great to drive on the highway. Very happy with them so far. Great value for money as well at about $270 per tyre fitted and balanced.Also came with a free air compressor which was a nice addition.

2001 Range Range Rover P38
A good mid level AT Tyre
I've got the General Grabber AT2 in a 255/60/18 on my 2001 Range Rover P38. In this size they are not LT rated.Having purchased the vehicle with these tyres and 20,000kms on them at the time, I can't comment from new, but I can comment on what I've experienced in the 25,000km I've put on them.I should start by saying that this model Range Rover seems to dislike 18" wheels (even factory wheels which I'm running) as they tend to "tramline" - it's well documented. Perhaps this is due to a squarer tread to sidewall, im not sure.My Range Rover definitely tramlines with these tyres on. I've replaced every steering component and had many alignments to try and cure it without success, so it can be a handful to drive (compared to my previous Range Rover of same model with 16" wheels and BFG KM2 tyres).That aside (as I was aware of the issue being common), the GG AT2's are a great tyre! They've now got 45,000km on them and I think I'll be replacing them at around 60,000km given how they are wearing now.Having toyed with pressures to find what makes them wear even, they handle the blacktop very well, especially on wet roads. On dirt roads they hold excellent. My trip to Cape York (and all other tracks up there - Tele/Frenchmans) and the Birdsville run, along with loads more touring and a lot of hard 4wding with low pressures and lockers engaged, I'm very impressed with their traction and ability. Having come from a mud tyre, I have found only one time where they have let me down where the muddy got me through (and this was not in mud).Now we get to mud!!! Fantastic! They seem excellent at self cleaning! I made it through where blokes with the latest and greatest, tallest and most beefed up 4wd's were getting stuck! Even those with very chunky mud tyres.So for traction, noise, comfort and durability I rate them excellent!For dirt road touring they took a beating. A fair few chips in the tread after my last trip. They did perform brilliant though.If my next set of tyres are All Terrain's, I will buy these again as they are cheap and in my opinion represent excellent value for money. Mine are now 4 years old.4 out of 5!!Hooroo

These Tyers are brilliant value for money. I tossed up between BFs but at $100 a tyre I thought give them a go. BFs a/t are the bench make of off road Tyers but so far these have done all I have asked of them . On the beach good as any tyre I have had . To all the Coopers fans out there
