About Cooper Tires S/T MAXX Tyres

The new S/T MAXX arrives after three years in the making, tested in Australia's outback and introducing Cooper's proven Armor-Tek 3 carcass construction for the first time in an all-terrain tyre.

Better than BFG All Terrains
Moved from BFG A/T's to Cooper ST's, a backward step. The then low km ST's aged 50K+ km after a 12K return trip to Kimberleys (Melb to Broome via the Tanami Track, then Gibb River Road, Kulumbaru Road, home via Oodnadatta Track and the Flinders Ranges.) Replaced 2 X ST's with the new ST Maxx tyres a year ago and these still look new after 14k to Cape York returning home via Kulumbaru, Lawn Hill. Towed an Ultimate Camper on both trips. The ST Maxx tyres are really excellent and in my opinion better the BFG A/T's for noise and in the wet on the blacktop. The blow the ST's out of the water.

Surprisingly minimal road noise
Drove my 2014 Ford PX XLT straight from the dealer to the tyre fitter.Had done my research and narrowed the new treads done to Mickeys or Cooper.absolutely stoked with the Cooper ST Maxx.Bugger all road noise, and handles beyond expectations in the bogs.Happy with my purchase.

i love my Cooper S/T maxx
i use Cooper S/T MAXX 245/75/16 on my Isuzu Dmax, when i originally purchased them, the tyre dealership told me to run 40psi (cold) for optimal on road performance, 30psi on rock/gravel surface, 22psi on sand & mud........... now i've been running these pressures for only 21,000k's rotating every 10,000k's ......The tyres have got me through some hairy situations now my friends are looking out for the same although they want 33's.

The ultimate perfect all rounder and reliable tyre!
I drive a 2012 Prado with 265/70/17's. I've done 40,000 kms in 10 months and they're wearing amazing, with rotations every 5k. My daily driving is 20kms of rough dirt roads every day followed my 70kms of highway. At first I found these tyres rough, rang coopers and they said run the pressures between 30-32 psi. I find 31 to be spot on. On weekends I usually do a 4wd trip or travel to families properties and the tyres seriously get punished. Also done birdsville, flinders, Simpson etc and all you simply need to do is run the right pressures. I also noticed all the birdsville locals ran ST MAXX's and I spoke to a few and they had nothing but praise. And for anyone who knows birdsville these areas are damn shaley and harsh terrain.I will run 285's next and may go the MIckey Thompson version (near identical) for something different either way same thing and I have 100% confidence in them.

Great tyre
I have a set of ST maxx 245/75/16 on my 2011 3L T/D colorado ute, I have only done 25000km with them on varied terrain from rocky high country, to muddy holes and highway use. I have done more driving on the black top commuting to work approx 65% Tarmac to 35% off road and still have 80 - 85% tred. The tires are pressure sensitive for the various types of terrain I run 38 psi cold pressure which will bring them up to 42 psi operating pressures for black top, I find this to be the best pressure although coopers told me I should run 36psi .I find their off road performance excellent providing you adjust the pressures to suit the terrain and don't drive like a mud racer. I have allowed my vehicle to crawl up and over some very steep and wet clay hills with limited slipping from the tyre and haven't had the winch out since I bought these.I had a big lock up at 80kmh on gravel to avoid a mx rider who thought he would ride straight across a road without looking. I was very happy with the way the tyre bit into the surface allowing me to maintain control with very little side wall flex or tyre roll. They are a little noisy at 110kmh but not too bad, they are not the best tyre on the black top if you want to really push the grip level, but they are not a highway tyre so if you think your an F1 driver but a set of highways otherwise drive to the conditions and they are fine.I have had no punctures yet and find these better than the STTs and Mickey Thompson's I had, I recommend the ST Maxx to all everyone.

Cooper STT Max
Tyre didn't last anywhere near 90000 km. noisy, causes bad vibrations after wear, even with scheduled rotations and wheel alignments. Had the St's, out lasted the STT's by about 30000. STT's did 45000 and need changed out. Compound seems too soft. Travel was on a lot of WA back roads around Kal and Southern Cross, going to and from work. A lot of open highway k's as well.
